Welcome to the Chathouse Blog!
Contributed by Lois Lane

A place where we can hear from the chatters!
New ideas for this forum, for the Chathouse, and anything else are welcome!

Iliamna's Quest
She is a published writer and student of behavior and has been chatting at the Chathouse since 1997. Her first article is actually one that she wrote several years ago and is about chatter's behavior. The article deals with behaviorism and the concept of removing attention in order to stop behaviors. And just who or what she uses in comparison to explain and illustrate Chatter Behavior Is a Must Read to believe!

Next we have:

  news.gifIn The News
 A weekly article posting the latest in the news and sometimes News that is only found "off the beaten path" of the main stream media. It is presented with the intent to get  your views, reactions and feedback on it! Controversial, Off Beat, Outrageous, Infuriating and always open for discussion. News that your views will be interesting, conflicting  and heart-felt on. Not recommended for those with high blood pressure, heart conditions or anger management problems, or maybe those are just the ones we want, Read and see and Speak for yourselves?

All writers of articles will decide of they wish to have others post replies, not post replies at all, and some writers  may allow only replies until the next article comes out, as it will be with  'In The News'

What I'd really like to do is get information from all the chatters on how many couples have met in here and are now together IRL? Give us your success stories, your horror stories, advise for other chatters about what to stay away form, what to not give up on, in other words... TELL US EVERYTHING!

West Wing losses a long time friend
Contributed by Lois Lane

On June 9, 2003, the West Wing lost a long time chatter.
2Dogs, one of the originals to the Chathouse, died of Congestive Heart failure. He brought laughter & fun to any room. Over the years his presence in the wing brought hours of joy & created many lasting friendships. One of those friendships turned into marriage for Him. He met, fell in love and married SouthernKitty. 2Dogs loved to laugh, play jokes on people & forming "room raids". 2Dogs was always a friend to all that he chatted with, never allowed a fellow chatter to be mistreated & had the greatest respect for everyone he encountered. His loss to the West Wing will be felt by many but his love for all has touched us deeply.
                                              We'll miss you Royce.

January 2003

On January 7, 2003 West Wing chatter Hot Damn died of Pancreatic Cancer.
  She was an original to the Chathouse and loved the West Wing.
  Hot Damn was full of the love of life.  Her laughter would lighten up a room.  She was a friend to all that knew Her and gladly lent an ear or a shoulder when someone was in need.
  For those of us that knew Hot Damn from the original days, We will miss her greatly.  Our hearts break with the loss of such a fine lady.
  Hot Damn leaves behind a husband & children.  All of our thoughts and prayers are with them in this time of healing.
  Hot Damn was 46 yrs old. Such a young life taken by such a cruel disease.
Rest in peace my dear friend and God speed.

* The widely-despised Albert EinstIen has fortunately got a case of the hives or some blesssed affliction that has quieted him quite down.

* The Village Idiot continues to spam our Forum with his kindergarten crap.

* I have dropped off the Quote Postings for a few weeks, but the heroic ATON continues, and in excellent taste too. He may be a damned knot-headed Swede Libratarian librarian fink, but he posts great quotes.

Navy divers find body of missing sailor

BRUNSWICK -A Navy medical corpsman who had been missing since the Marine helicopter he was in crashed into the Atlantic was found dead Sunday by a team of Navy divers, military officials said.

Petty Officer 1st Class Kevin J. Frank, 39, of Ocean City, Md., had been missing since Saturday morning, when the Marine helicopter went down about 30 miles southeast of Savannah. He was stationed at the Beaufort (S.C.) Naval Hospital.

Navy divers found the body in the 90-foot-deep water, just outside the helicopter, about 3 p.m. Sunday. The Marine helicopter had crashed while helping search for the occupant of a civilian helicopter that crashed in the same area Friday night, killing two men.

Beaufort Holds Memorial for Corpsman Killed in Crash
3/15/2002
By Lisa M. Voorhies, Naval Hospital Beaufort Public Affairs

BEAUFORT, S.C. (NNS) -- A memorial service was held this week at the Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort chapel for Hospital Corpsman 1st Class Kevin J. Frank. Frank was killed in a helicopter crash that occurred while helping the U.S. Coast Guard search for survivors of an earlier civilian crash.

Four other Navy crew members were rescued shortly after the crash.

"We are deeply saddened by the loss of Petty Officer Frank," said Capt. Gary Zuckerman, Medical Service Corps, commanding officer of Naval Hospital Beaufort. "Frank loved being a SAR (sea-air-rescue) corpsman. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and we share in their grief."

He leaves a wife and three children.

Tears fell and my heart shattered as I read this article. I was trying to help a dear soul determine whether the news she had received was true or not. Had our dear friend Kevin Frank aka Bat Out of Hell, aka THOR, God of Thunder, truly lost his life? I had hoped to find nothing to confirm this and then the above article appeared on my screen. My initial thoughts were "God NO! How could such a beautiful soul be taken from us in such tragedy." I had to go into the forum and let our friends know of this loss, as the one person who knew him better than me was in no shape to do so. Since then it has been clear in many of the Chathouse forums that this was a dearly loved and respected man. I was asked to compose this today and am doing so on a deadline so many thoughts and emotions will go unsaid but I hope to properly memorialize this Hero.

I met Kevin a little over a year ago, he was using his Bat Out of Hell handle and it was my first morning in Chathouse. I didn't know anyone yet and he immediately started to talk to me as I came into the room. Asking me questions about myself, where I was from, about my son, etc. We talked for a few hours that day and started to form a friendship that I will now treasure until I meet him again. Not too long after we met, he had formed a relationship with someone I had also recently befriended, Princess Laya Star. The three of us spent many hours in the Hot Tub and the Ladies Room chatting. We had so many laughs and so much fun together. So often he laughed and told Princess Laya and I that we were insane for our online antics. There are so many memories shared with the two of them that I will hold close to my heart forever now. I watched this man reach out to so many chatters, he had a way of just making you feel special. Many times when the chips were down Kevin would give me a phone call to cheer me up. When my husbands best friend passed away suddenly last summer, Kevin was immediately on the phone giving me the encouragement I needed to get through those hard days. When I found out I was expecting a child Kevin called to share in that joy. These were just the things that Kevin did for those he cared about. I hurt to know that never again will I hear his voice, him laughing on the phone and making me forget the issues in the real world. The way he could make it all better with two words that he always had for me when I was down "Smile Darlin." It was Kevin's way of saying," it will get better!" The last three days I have sat back and smiled as well as cried at memories of this amazing man. I will never again listen to Lynard Skynard without shedding a tear and thinking of Kevin saying "Love those Georgia Peaches" in PM to me whenever I posted one of my photos online.

To find out Kevin lost his life trying to help others was a blow to my heart but it also hit me that he could not have left a more fitting tribute for who Kevin J. Frank was. He was always there to lift you up, to encourage you, and to make you see that things will get better. Over the last three days I have heard his voice so often telling me, "Smile Darlin." I also cannot help but to think that the name of his helicopter, Angel One, could not have been more appropriate. For this was truly an angel to those blessed enough to have met him.

There are so many things I will miss about this friend of mine and so much I could say, but I think that I will let the deep emotions expressed throughout the last few days in the Forums speak for themselves.

I am just adding pieces of the posts, you can view the full posts in Forums in the Ladies Room, Great Hall, and House of Lords.

BAT, you will be missed by all!
(Harley Menace)

Still today when I think about Kevin he can bring a smile to my face! He will never, ever be forgotten. He truly IS special, even from up above! He touched a lot of people!
(sassy, classy, just a bit nasty)

I don't get real close to many people, but am good at sizing them up, by how they interact with others. I don't have to say anything to those who knew him, because you know this, and more. But if you didn't know him, let me tell you, he was a genuinely nice guy, the kind ChatHouse, his country, and the world, need more of.
(M Wants)

Bat will remain with those he touched with his gentle strength, his caring nature...and his wonderful sense oh humor.
(OhSoSweet)

Sits in stunned silence. Words cannot express this heaviness in my heart. May he rest in peace.
(SexyK)

now i watch you flying high in the sky
curing broken wings of angels that need to fly
a bat outta hell on such a day
god sees you and needs you and wisks you away
and friends that you leave in their lives miss you too
but they know that the bat is an angel so true
(Truey)

Jesus....tell me it's not true!!!!!!!! If I could wake up tomorrow and have one wish come true, it would be to spend one more day with you!! One more phone call...one more laugh.. one more tear.. Now my love your wings will soar......*sobbing* Fly High My Angel.....Fly High!!!!!!! Kevin.....you were so special to so many...... and we'll never be the same without you!!
Love you always.......
Susie(MissBehaving)

Hey Darlin.. Now your wings will spread & take you to heights you have never been..
Rest in Gods arms..
(BlondieS)

*really shocked*
Oh no! This can't be true? I wish I had gotten the chance to tell you that you were a special man! *hugs and kisses to you in heaven* I will see you later! *s*
(coyote kimberly)

Kevin was one of my very best Friends.. i miss Him terribly.. *softly crying again*
(mai-sheri/ehlana )

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You can view these and other posts in the Forums of Chathouse. As an added Request, Princess Laya Star, Kevin's soul mate, has requested that if you live near a body of water, be it an ocean, lake, or a pond, please go place flowers in the water in memory of Kevin. Take a minute to recall that this hero died for each of us. Thank you all.
Kevin, to you hun, I say, spread those angel wings and fly free darlin. I will carry you within my heart until the day we meet again. Every time I hear Lynard Skynard's Free Bird I will smile through tears thinking of you. Though I may not hear your voice again on this earth, I will keep you alive through the memories we created over the last year. Until I meet you again, I will keep you in my heart and I will I keep an eye on the one you loved more than any other never letting her forget what she was to you.
Love you bunches Kevin,
Heather (sxyclwn)
Hello all...........I have a few things that I would like to share in light of this holiday. *S* First of all to my wonderful husband.........Chris......my love.....my darling.......what can I say to you that you don't already know? I love you with all there is in me, you bring out the better parts of me. Even when I am down or just in one of "my moods", you do everything you can to make me smile and show just how much you love me. What or where would I be without you? Baby, I love you with all my heart and soul and want you to know just important you are to me. You are and forever will be "My Valentine"! *huge tight massive huggers n passionate kisses*
Now............to all my chat family and friends........I have no idea where to begin to tell just how much you all mean to me, also there are just waaaaaaaaaaaaay too many of you to list individually. Let me just say that is the almost six years that I have been chatting, you have been there for me through life and death, my ups and downs, my great moods and my most worst ones as well, my illnesses and surgery's as well as the happy times in my life. You have been there to congratulate me and support me when I was losing what little mind I have planning my wedding and you were there to support me on the near death of my son and his very blessed recovery from his illness.
There were times where without some of you, I probably woulda done something drastic, stupid or just plain insane. You guys/gals mean more to me than I can ever express in this lil message. I just want you all to know that I love each of you dearly and that I hope you have the best Valentines Day ever and get that "special" Valentine that you are hoping for.
*huge tight huggers n kisses where they go*
We met in the hall in the month of January.I never expected that love would find me i always ran into the wrong guys. But you were so different so loving, so kind, and honest. From the very first time we met you always were honest with me telling me exactly how you felt about me and thats what drew me to you.I remember the first time you told me that you loved me I was over come with so much happiness but scared at the same time. I didn't know whether to believe you or not.
But the more time we spent with each other chatting and talking on the phone i just knew that i felt the same way. As the days went by my love for you continued to grow. You loved me for who I was and you taught me so much about myself and the world around me. You taught me that not all guys are jerks and that nice guys really do exist. I love the way your so caring and loving towards me. When i need someone to talk to your always there for me.
We met in person Feb 3, 2002 and it was everything that I expected it to be and so much more.So today on Valentine's Day I declare my love for you Rich love you always and forever.
Your,Ali*hugs and kisses*
The Attic's Update
2-6-02
Submitted By:
Jenn AKA .. SweetS AKA Jenn23
Well here I am again writing for our beloved Chathouse and Ezine about a place called
The Attic ... located in the public access rooms area of Chathouse...
If you so decide to go to this java, jave light , html chat area please be advised.. the locals or well regulars ..can be very friendly but it all depends on how you act when in the room.
If you come into the room and act like you are high and mighty .. the people of this place will knock you back down to the level you should be at, But if you come into the room and act respectable and such .. they will hold you as a friend and welcome you to their "home".
So Now on with what is new within our beloved attic. Well ...nothing much has been going on within these rooms .. it has been pretty much boring for the past little while as Many of the original regulars are leaving... yet some are also just now returning .. to pop in
