To Those Who Link Pictures Directly From Galleries
Firstly - download that pic you use OFF the gallery server it comes from. Not
doing so makes reputable
galleries shut down because of bandwidth theft. It costs money to display a
picture - and with the 250
people per day that could be viewing that particular picture you're using at
Chat House, let alone at the
actual TOP COWS site you link it directly from.
Secondly -SHRINK it's file size. This means saving it as a JPG format instead
of GIF and COMPRESSING
the f---er DOWN.
Thirdly - upload the pic to YOUR homepage and link from THERE. If you don't
have webspace there are
PLENTY of free hosting places you can go... namely geocities, angelfire, xoom,
fortunecity etc.
DON'T link direct from FTP or gallery servers people. Its unethical, immoral
and downright ANNOYING
for those of us with slower comps or on strict bandwidth or traffic restrictions
and limitations. Not to mention
the sites being inked to suffer greatly as well - as it takes LONGER for pictures
to download both at
Chat House and the gallery site itself.
Why am I saying this? Because I don't want OUR RIGHT TO BE ABLE TO POST IMAGES
either as a
handle or freely in the forum to be taken away. I work DAMN hard on my pics
to make em look GOOD
and I'M proud to show off what I can do, as do so many other people in the Wing.
If you can't edit your pics
yourself, find someone who CAN! There are many people who are quite happy to
do it.
