Issue #68 ~ð~ August 18, 2001
Happy Birthday MichiganStormú

Editor's Note: (Substitute Editor RiderOfTxStormú) This issue of the Chathouse Ezine is being published by none other than yours truly RiderOfTxStormú. The reason I am stepping in as editor again is that our beloved MichiganStormú celebrated her birthday over the weekend  of the 10th, 11th & 12th and this was supposed to be my gift to her!  *S*  However, it's seems the Chathouse was having some technical difficulties and we were unable to get it posted. So, this is last weeks issue, being posted for this weeks issue and hopefully all will be back to normal in time for next weeks issue! *LOL* But enough of my rambling, now let's get on with the Ezine.

The Chathouse

~Chat Dominatrix~

They're Baaaaack

Well as I'm sure everyone knows by now, the Chathouse had a few problems due to two recent black outs, which in turn caused a few technical difficulties.
(
(crispy fried servers))
But everything is back up and running now, though there are still a few things yet that are more like a slow trot than a run.
The Chathouse would like to thank everyone for patiently bearing with them through this trouble, and to even thank those who didn't do so patiently. ~L~
And to all the East Wing chatters, please hang in there a little longer, they're doing their best to get you all back in your rooms, and having them run smoothly for you! Thank You!

Worth A Whipping
I picked this week's handle because, as much as I love seeing all the artistic and imaginative pictures that are created for the handles, it's still refreshing to see those secure enough in themselves and those around them, to post their own personal picture.

And please always remember,
Whether or not the picture a chatter may be using is real or not, the chatter is!

Q & A
MichiganStormú

The Game: The game Honesty is based on Truth or Dare, but without the dare. When actually playing the game one player asks a question and all have to answer honestly, including the player who asked the pending question. For the new Ezine version of the game I will ask a new question each week and all Chathouse¨ chatters are welcome [and invited] to send in a response. The following week not only will a new question be asked, but the answers to [any] previous questions that we receive will also be posted, including my own.

Please send all answers to ch_zine@hotmail.com and be sure to include the handle under which your input should be posted [if a handle is not submitted, there will be no handle posted with the response]. If you have any questions you'd like asked in our Q & A section, please send them to the same address! Thank you.

The Question: (This question was suggested by a fellow chatter)
What is the worst thing you would REALLY do for a cold million in cash?

The Answers: Last Weeks Question: If someone were to ask you right now who you're hero is, what would you tell them?

ð Other than my grandmother, who is a hero of heroes in my eyes, I have an enormous amount of admiration for Steffi Graf, who retired from women's tennis with 22 grand slam titles, I believe it was. Including, a golden slam, which is all four grand slams and an Olympic gold medal in the same year. Seetherú

ð My hero? Well that's pretty simple, my mom is my biggest hero for more reasons than I could list. Otherwise, I have other heros, they're not even people I know... they're all the people out there who achieve their dreams because that is one of the hardest things to do from what I've seen. MichiganStormú

    ð that's easy.... it's seether *L* me(f)

ð Hmmmm.... That's actually a tough one. A long list of important people come to mind, as well as family and friends who have had dramatic impacts on my life. I guess it all boils down to how you define Hero, but the person that I respect the most has faced tough and sometimes even dangerous situations and has managed to see his way through them all. Though he has never jumped on a grenade or single-handedly captured the enemy, he has gone out of his way to help others when others would, or could, not. He has shaped my life in more ways than I can count and is responsible for me being the man that I am today. Who is this Hero? My Hero is...... ME!
Of course I say that with all of the modesty and humbleness I can! *S*
    RiderOfTxStormú

ð I have many Heroes and to me a Hero is someone who goes above and beyond the status quo. The people who step up, speak up and take action to right the wrongs they see around them. My heroes are the people who get involved in Neighborhood watch programs. People like Citizens for Constitutional Government who pay attention to politics and take action to lead our leaders back to the path when they stray. People who do more than just TALK about the plight of the homeless like Habitat for Humanity. People like that are my heroes and to pick just one would be doing an injustice to the countless others who are equally deserving of respect and praise. My2CentsDealW/it!

My Two Cents on
The Ezine

As I sat down to write my article this week, I realized that I have been writing for the Ezine for a little over a year now. Having past that anniversary without notice, I decided to look back and reflect a bit on my association with the Chathouse Ezine over the last year.

To begin with, I would like to clarify my affiliation with both the Ezine and the Chathouse itself. Regardless of my name being used in the promotion of the Chathouse War Room forum, I am not now, nor have I ever been employed by the Chathouse. However, the War Room was created in part due to my exploits throughout most of the Chathouse forums posting opinions on the 2000 Presidential Election (it was originally called the Political War Room). It was because of my outspokenness, both in chat and in the War Room forum, that I was invited to write for the Ezine. Of course that offer has been made to everyone who reads the Ezine as well.

During my tenure as a writer for the Chathouse Ezine I have received many kudos from the readers as well as many rather scorching responses, both of which I welcome. Some may say that it is obvious that I would welcome words of praise, but it goes much deeper than that. I feel very strongly about my opinions and when my expression of those opinions touch others to the point that they are compelled to write a few words of agreement or support then I feel a sense of accomplishment and validation of my skills as a writer. However, the scorching replies actually mean even more to me. Motivating others to explore and express their own opinions is my ultimate goal. My approach may seem rather crass and unyielding, but I have found that the more extreme my position, the more lively and passionate the debate that arises from it. My most cherished responses come from those who do not normally discuss such topics. On several occasions I have heard from those who may or may not agree with me, but have expressed their appreciation to myself, Rantmaster and others for inspiring them to think about many of the complex issues in life, many times for the very first time in their lives.

Education has always been my ultimate goal in my writings. Although much of the subject matter involves highly polarized extreme views. My positions are generally characterized as "Right-Wing Extremist" however if anyone was to look more closely than the surface they would see that I am not nearly as extreme as I may appear at first glance. I am not a blind idealist, but rather a pragmatic realist. I write for the Ezine in order to express views that get very little attention in today's world. A world that I feel is dominated by the vocal idealists of all extremes. Only the most extreme positions are sensational enough to make the "News". Only the most idealistic dream weavers garner the votes in elections. Common Sense and the common man seem to be lost in the fray. I try to speak to the common man (and woman - sorry political correctness just isn't me), I state what sometimes seems to be the glaringly obvious things that never seem to be mentioned in the "media". I try to provide unbiased information whenever possible, so that people can get the facts without all the propaganda. Granted, my own bias is sometimes hard to filter out, but as a writer, especially an opinion writer, that just goes with the territory. However, every one of you reading this right now has an equal opportunity to express yourselves in exactly the same way that I do. This brings me to the purpose of the Ezine itself.

The Chathouse Ezine is, and always has been, independent of the Chathouse. It is done by and for the chatters with full creative license and freedom. Anyone who would like to contribute articles to the Ezine is welcome to do so. Whether it be a one-time submission or you have a subject of interest that you would like to do a weekly article on, the Ezine is limited only by those who are willing to participate. In the past the Ezine has featured everything from poetry and relationship tips to chatter interviews and Chathouse floor and room reviews and even professional wrestling. So, those of you out there who would like to take up the "Leftist Fanatic" banner and contribute, feel free. Do you fancy yourself a Chef and have some recipes to share? Fantasy football? Role-playing? Computer tech support? Do you have a popular hobby that you would like to share hints and tips with others about? What is your passion, what do you know alot about? Do you have information that you would like to share with our readers?

My opinions and passion to educate others are my driving forces. What are yours? Though some have accused me of turning people away from the Chathouse and the Ezine itself, I have been told by the Ezine editor (MichiganStormú) that myself and Chat Dominatrix share the honors of having the most popular articles in the Ezine. This is an honor that is both flattering and humbling, but never being one to back away from a debate or challenge, I welcome the competition from anyone among you who would care to contribute your own articles to the Ezine. One note, to those who are involved in online marketing, MLMs, Networking, etc. The Ezine does not yet sell ad space, accept advertising or promotional/sales oriented articles. For the record, the banners in my article link to a site for educational purposes only. The fact that the Citizens for Constitutional Government also accepts paid membership is secondary and completely voluntary. However, with your help and involvement there is a possibility that we could grow this little independent Ezine into the type of Ezine/Newsletter that could support advertising, but as I said before, we are only limited by the chatters who are willing to get involved and contribute.

So, what have you got to say?
Let me know and I'll tell you if it's worth 2 cents!

Horoscopes
By Texas Storm

Borrowed from

 Taurus ..... April 20 - May 20
Your week will taste slightly of iron.
You take advice from Milli and Vanilli and blame it on the rain.
Which is made out of hydrogen and oxygen (and a bit of soot and other assorted things), but not iron, so it's sort of a leap of faith, on your part.

Leo ..... July 23 - August 22
Happy birthday or thereabouts!
Your experiments with electricity finally come to fruition this week. Surprisingly, not many people are overly surprised you managed to get the toaster working, though the toast it produces is shockingly good.

Virgo ..... August 23 - September 22
You will receive a cheque this week for somewhere in the neighborhood of seven million pounds (sterling, not punt).
Mars hints that it was all his doing, and mentions something about how he really thinks a new painting for his living room would really liven the place up.

Gemini ..... May 21 - June 20
Your washing on Thursday will be wildly satisfying.
The horoscopes seem to be following a relational-type bent this week, though you can't figure how satisfying laundry relates to much of anything. And you don't really care, to be honest.

Capricorn ..... December 22 - January 19
Make that purchase you've been holding off on making.
Also, your romantic interests this week, with Venus in your sign and rising, suffer a minor setback when you manage to talk to a prospect and spill tomato soup all over their front. And you maim their dog, but that was an accident. And not tomato-related.

Cancer ..... June 21 - July 22
There is a conspiracy to steal your soul this week.
It doesn't go off, however, due to your long-standing belief that the soul and body can't be separated, and the conspirators aren't terribly interested in your body this week.
It's always the way, isn't it? When you want them to dig your body they only want to talk about the Soul and Mind, and when you want to talk to someone about Consciousness and Being all they want is your body.

Pisces ..... February 19 - March 20
You will be shocked and quite possibly appalled at how shockingly and appallingly bad the horoscopes are this week.
The song "You Can't Always Get What You Want" leaps to mind.
As does the song "Tiptoe Through the Tulips", for completely unrelated reasons.

Aries ..... March 21 - April 19
You're still stuck in the tree this week, with the annoying monkeys bouncing all around you and the equally annoying rhinoceros below, occasionally listlessly head butting the tree.
The age old adage about preferring annoyances that won't trample you has never been so pertinent as it is this week.
You forgot your Stanley knife, so you're left to just bang coconuts against the tree, which the rhino takes to mean it should keep banging the tree, itself.

Libra ..... September 23 - October 22
The person who got hit by a stray bit of watermelon rind shrapnel last week was carted off to hospital, where the bulk of the watermelon rind was removed. However, later that week the patient takes a turn for the worse, as he's rushed back to the hospital where they find a rogue seed they'd not removed in the initial operation. Alas, it's too late for him, and he succumbs, after bravely holding on in a twenty-two hour surgery.
His family holds you directly responsible, and begin camping out on your lawn.
This is a bad week for you.

Scorpio ..... October 23 - November 21
You have no horoscope. This comes as little surprise, as you haven't had a horoscope for some time now.
You may content yourself with being the butt of a running gag for two hundred and two weeks now, which has an almost Biblical ring to it, doesn't it?

Sagittarius ..... November 22 - December 21
Alligator-wrestling is not a sport for the weak of spirit. Nor is it for those people who mind losing a limb occasionally to a leathery greenish brown thing with sharp sharp teeth.
Keep this in mind when you write down your career goals and aspirations in your pay review this week.

Aquarius ..... January 20 - February 18
Your attempts this week to get everyone to call you the Sun King are largely unsuccessful.
You slip and fall on a piece of the watermelon shrapnel from Libra's antics of last week. Which is odd, because it's in your shower, and doesn't make any sense at all (not that watermelon, whole, make much sense, ever).

-Wrestling Debate-

There were a few of us who received questionnaires from a certain shady character from Michigan on Wrestling, I was one of the those chosen to fill out one of these forms. Then, to my surprise, the results of said poll were then handed over to me. The idea is to share the different opinions on wrestling and wrestlers, perhaps this will lead to more input from some of you? Apparently we're also hoping this will eventually lead to a debate article of sorts, we have yet to decide how this might work, I guess we'll all have to wait and see!

I'm not sure how many more replies I'm supposed to be expecting, but as I get them they'll be posted in the Ezine each week. If any of you are interested in answering the same questions as Seetherú answers below please feel free to do so and email them to thechatdiva@hotmail.com and they'll be posted in a future issue of the Ezine.

The Answers

Seetherú's answers -
1. Your favorite Wrestler(s) and WHY?
-Triple H....because, he's big, he's powerful, he's sexy, he's entertaining, and he's a bad boy.  Those are the only reason's I can list that are in good taste anyways...*G*

2. Lease favorite Wrestler(s) and WHY? -I can't stand Rikishi or Haku, or X-Pac....Why?  The Brooklyn Brawler is more fun to watch. *L*

3. Favorite WWF couple?  They're aren't many to choose from....*thinking*  Let's see- HHH and Stephanie, Matt and Lita, Jeff and Trish, Steve and Debra, Undertaker and Sara, Spike and Molly....I have to go with HHH and Steph I guess.  Unless Farooq and Bradshaw count??

4. Who would make a great couple, given the right story line? -Actually, even though I like HHH and Stephanie together, I think it would be really interesting if Stephanie had a torrid affair with Chris Jericho!!  ...seeing as they hate each others' guts and all. *L*

5. What wrestler do you feel is the most ATHLETIC?  -It's a toss up between Kurt Angle and Rob Van Dam.

6. Best Storyline? -Right now, (since Triple H is gone of course) Kurt Angle probably does.

7. Worst Storyline? -Austin.

8. You're favorite finishing move (doesn't necessarily have to be done by your favorite wrestler)? - I like the Dudley 3D, and I love Jeff Hardy's "Swantan Bomb", and the Pedigree.

9. Who would you most like to see join/rejoin the WWF from
WCW or ECW? -SHAWN MICHAELS, BABY!  *looks at the question again*   OH, ummm....Kevin Nash.  *nods*

10. Who would you expect to be most like their WWF character IRL? -Trish Stratus.  A slut is a slut is a slut. *G*

~*Chat Diva*~'s answers-
1. Your favorite Wrestler(s) and WHY?
2. Lease favorite Wrestler(s) and WHY?

I'm answering these two questions at once with a simple run-down on what I think of some of the WWF Superstars. We'll call this The Good, The Bad & The Others!

The Good-

  • Mick Foley may not wrestle anymore but any WWF fan will tell you that in the wrestling community Mick is God!

Chris Benoit is very athletic, very quick and very technical (see there is a reason they call him the best damn technical wrestler!) in his wrestling abilities. Prove me wrong! Certainly not the cutest, but his short 5'10" frame carries quite the physique!

Undertaker reminds me of a big, tattooed Teddy Bear! He's been around for a decade and I don't see him going anywhere anytime soon, he's got a few good years left in him. He towers over many of the other wrestlers and though he may not have the wonderful physique that some others sport, he's still a very powerful force in the WWF. I like his Harleys and adore his attitude, he's the loner everyone just loves!

Kane has his moments, such as his memorable "Whazzup?" on one Smackdown when he and Undertaker were teamed with a Dudley. His physique leaves little to want, but in my opinion he is over-dressed! Let us see that belly and those pecks! I'm completely infatuated with this man (even after seeing his face under the mask)! They need to bring his character to full potential!

Chris Jericho has a good strong character in his role as Y2J and an even stronger fan following. He's not the "assclown" he once might have been you know? He's very attractive, easily liked, humorous and quite athletic in the ring.

The Hardy Boyz and Lita have a lot going for them, they're all young and Jeff is damn sexy! They continuously put their bodies on the line for our entertainment with their high flying moves and daring tactics. The Swanton Bomb, The Twist of Fate and all the other moves that leave you OOOOHing and AHHHing are what make them the fabulous team that they are!

Kurt Angle was once one of the wrestlers I never wanted to win, but always liked watching wrestle. He's very athletic and technical in the ring after all he is a Gold Medal winner in the Olympics, it's true, it's damn true! He's been a really versatile character on the WWF; he's went from whiner to asshole to whiner again to dork to the man we see now on the WWF! And he's a damn good wrestler!

Chyna is the biggest woman to ever have taken a place among the WWF Superstars and has definitely put her strength to good use kicking some of their egos in the ass! Watch her wrestler and you'll ask no questions, however her finishing move leaves you wondering... 'how long does she really expect them to just stand in the corner waiting for her?'

The Rock leaves nothing out! He's smooth on the mic and athletic in the ring, he's got great taste in clothes and is dead sexy when he waggles his tongue shouting "Can you smellllllll what the Rock is cookin'!?". Every story needs an egotistical hero and for many WWF fans The People's Champion, The Rock is it! He's handsome and has a great physique as well as a charming character, but again I have to ask... 'how long does he really expect those guys to just lie there while he dances around the ring prior to giving the "peoples elbow"?'.

Triple H is the character everyone loves to hate and loves to watch in action. It almost hurts me to admit this, but I love watching him wrestle (when the storyline doesn't call for cheating), he's incredibly fit and athletic. He's got great hair too! Seriously though, I don't care for the character they give him on the air, but the man can wrestle and let's not forget his intro-song! He is the game and he is that damn good!

The Bad (this list is comprised of those I don't even care if I watch wrestle)

  • The Big Show is in worse shape than I am! He has a hard time getting into the ring without gasping for air and he's just too damn big! It's not always realistic to watch a 200 pounder drop him on his back.

Eddie Guerrero is one I've just never been able to stomach!

XPac is another one that I just never liked and can't stand to watch.

Scotty-2-Hotty just takes too long and puts too much show into it!

    Rikishit... Waste of time.

The others- there are many others in the WWF, some I like - some I don't, but I narrowed it down as much as I could with these lists!

3. Favorite WWF couple? Edge & Christian? Seriously, I adore Matt & Lita but Triple H & Stephanie were made for each other (that wasn't a compliment).

4. Who would make a great couple, given the right story line? Trish Stratus & Steve Blackman - I've thought so ever since their play on Austin Powers tent scene on RAW!

5. What wrestler do you feel is the most ATHLETIC? Kurt Angle

6. Best Storyline? Right now I'd have to say Angle's storyline.

7. Worst Storyline? Making Steve Austin play this huggy feely lovey person that his character just isn't.
The DDP- Sara- Undertaker story line.
The Invasion story line, though it's made room for more story lines to come off in different directions for different people even after the WCW (hopefully) gets it's own show again - it's old and I for one am over it.

8. You're favorite finishing move (doesn't necessarily have to be done by your favorite wrestler)? By far there is no competition to Triple H's Pedigree, The Undertaker's Last Ride, and Jericho's submission hold - The Walls of Jericho.

9. Who would you most like to see join/rejoin the WWF from WCW or ECW? Easy, that would be Rob Van Dam! His animal like leaps to the top ropes remind me of the days when Superfly was still in the WWF! He's got the looks, definitely has the body and the ability! I'll tell Vince to sign him right away!

10. Who would you expect to be most like their WWF character IRL? Mick Foley & Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley.

If you'd like to participate in the Wrestling Debacle {debate}, please feel free to send your answer to the above questions to me at thechatdiva@hotmail.com or to MichStorm at ch_zine@hotmail.com and they'll be posted next week!! Please, all Wrestling fans WRITE IN!!
