Welcome
to the New Ezine!
by RiderOfTxStorm
Ok, so it's not exactly
"New", but it is changing. For the better we hope.
The Ezine has been a growing and evolving enterprise from it's very beginning.
Starting as merely a whim, done just for fun and blossoming into a widely
read and eagerly anticipated weekly magazine.
(Or so we have been told by our readers *S* *See Chat Dom's
article*)
We have a few regular writers
to thank for this and we are grateful for their regular contributions. Chat
Dominatrix, MyTwoCents and Michigan Storm™ have been the backbone of this
Ezine with the help of many others who have contributed from time to time as well. Unfortunately, the flow of ideas and articles by other
chatters has dwindled over the recent months and we are forced to make some
changes.
In the coming weeks we will be unveiling several new ideas,
resources and opportunities in the Ezine. Our goal is to build an Ezine that
is not only entertaining and pertinent to those who chat within the
Chathouse, but also a valuable asset filled with everything that we
cyber-citizens need in our online lives.
So, again we put out the
call to all our fellow chatters to submit your ideas, interests and subjects
that you would like to see discussed. No Holds Barred, Anything Goes,
Whatever Floats Your Boat, we are laying it ALL on the table here at the
Ezine. Send me your subject ideas, your special interests, your business
ventures, favorite resource links, anything at all that you think other
chatters might be interested in. What search engines do you use most or have
the best results from? Are you an up and coming web designer looking for
prospects? Do you have a special talent or interest that you would like to
share with others? Is there something happening in the world that you would
like to express your opinion on? Do you have some juicy gossip to share? All
submissions will be freely considered and most, if not all, will be tested
out in the Ezine. Our goal is to build an Ezine that puts all of your cyber
interests at your fingertips, that way the time you spend searching for
these things is eliminated and you have more time to chat!
I am coming to YOU, our
readers, to tell me what YOU want. What do you expect to see when you open
the Ezine? What are you not seeing that you would like to see? Do you know
of something that people want or need, but they just don't know it yet?
TELL ME ABOUT IT!
Send all email to ch_zine@hotmail.com
and be sure to include something in the 'Subject' line to identify your
email. Example: Favorite Link, Article Submission, What I Would Like To See,
What I Hate About The Ezine, etc...
We Are Eagerly Awaiting Your
Email!
Sincerely,
Zine Staff
P.S. Now on with the Zine!!! |
Chat Gathering Josie™I am considering hosting another net gathering here in Wilmington, NC sometime early October. If you are interested, please email me @ spring_fling@hotmail.com I will only proceed with planning if enough people are interested in attending. Josie Back to the Top |

Ezine Anticipation:
Hello :-) You are
doing such a wonderful job with the Ezine that there are people like me
chomping at the bit for the next issue.... I dont mean to be impatient....
but..... *biting my nails*.... when is the next issue? (MagicLea)
It's
right here!
We should soon be back on track and getting out a bi-weekly Ezine. Maybe
in the future, if we can get more chatters to write in with ideas and/or
articles, we will have enough material to get back to a weekly Ezine
again!
Anyone interested in writing articles are more then welcomed to do so, by
submitting their thoughts/ideas to: ch_zine@hotmail.com

Fetish:
How many people have you encountered have a
passion for fire? I love fire and love being set on fire, especially my
naughty bits. It is such a turn on. Is this a common form of S & M?
Can
anyone help me answer this email?
Send your thoughts to: chatdominatrix@chathouse.com
The below
email was sent in from a chatter who thought it fitting for not only
Life's lessons, but maybe also chatting lessons?
Life's Lessons
A little bird was flying south for the winter.
It was so cold, the bird froze and fell to the ground in a large field.
While it was lying there, a cow came by and dropped some dung on it. As
the frozen bird lay there in the pile of dung, it began to realize how
warm it was. The dung was actually thawing him out! He lay there all warm
and happy, and soon began to sing for joy.
A passing cat heard the bird singing and came to investigate. Following
the sound, the cat discovered the bird under the pile of cow dung, and
promptly dug him up and ate him.
Life's Lessons:
1. Not everyone
who drops shit on you is your enemy.
2. Not everyone
who gets you out of the shit is your friend.
3. And when you
are in deep shit, keep your mouth shut.

Forum Posts
I found this one
to be quite fitting to go along with the two above posts.
The 10
minute theory is so totally off base. People can change their handle so
easy, but the registration numbers remain the same. Just because a
different handle posts 10 minutes behind another post doesn't mean that
they are the same person. Just means that someone posted 10 minutes after
someone else. Second, the thing about tracing a registration number said
by some is a crock too. No one can do that except chathouse personnel. So
there fore all the threats that some throw out there about tracing your
number back to you, well unless you gave them your IP number.. then you
can't be traced via a chatter. Chathouse admin has enough on their plates
trying to keep a FREE (note the word FREE) site going for people to come
to, without having to act as playground monitors for everyone that gets
their feelings hurt, because he/she said this or that. If some people
would quit threatening these people themselves, instead of crying out how
they got hurt or threatened, then we would have more chatters coming here,
instead of ones that get frightened away by someone yelling Foul as soon
as they come in the room. Of course this is all my opinion. Everyone is
entitled to one.*L*

Another room post
I came across while visiting another room.
˛
quotes@chathouse.com .... submit one at a time or they get confused I hear
*LOL*
To
clarify on this, when a quote is picked to be used, the email is then
deleted to keep from making the mistake of reusing the same quote. So if
you don't mind the rest of your quotes being deleted if we should choose
one of them, then by all means send them all in one email. Otherwise,
please submit separate quotes in separate emails. More than one quote in
an email does not confuse me, it only limits the choices, due to the fact
that only one quote will picked out of them.

My
Two Cents on American
Borders, Language and Culture
A Three Part
Series
My
first article in this series was almost a month ago, click the 'Borders'
in the title to refresh your memory. However, this weeks subject 'Language'
is closely related to the issue of borders, but goes far beyond simply where
people are from or how they got here. Language is the common thread that
unites people. Language has been both a dividing and uniting factor in the
world since the fall of the Tower
of Babel.
"Now
the whole earth had one language and few words. And as men migrated from the
east, they found a plain in the land of Shinar and settled there. And they
said to one another, 'Come, let us make bricks, and burn them thoroughly.'
And they had brick for stone, and bitumen for mortar. Then they said, 'Come,
let us build ourselves a city, and a tower with its top in the heavens, and
let us make a name for ourselves, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face
of the whole earth.' And the LORD came down to see the city and the tower,
which the sons of men had built. And the LORD said, 'Behold, they are one
people, and they have all one language; and this is only the beginning of
what they will do; and nothing that they propose to do will now be
impossible for them. Come, let us go down, and there confuse their language,
that they may not understand one another's speech.' So the LORD scattered
them abroad from there over the face of all the earth, and they left off
building the city.' Therefore its name was called Babel, because there the
LORD confused the language of all the earth; and from there the LORD
scattered them abroad over the face of all the earth."
(Genesis 11:1-9)
"Behold,
they are one people, and they have all one language; and this is only the
beginning of what they will do; and nothing that they propose to do will now
be impossible for them."
These are the words of God, One People, One Language - Nothing they propose
will be impossible to them. Multiple languages lead to confusion, mistrust
and suspicion. There are few things more uncomfortable in society than to be
surrounded by others speaking a different language. Are they talking about
me? What are they up to that they don't want me to know? Does the phrase
"It loses something in the translation" mean anything?
Many people equate
language with culture, but that is an association of convenience rather than
an actual link. Now granted there may be certain words or phrases that don't
translate well, but such linguistic inconveniences have been overcome by
many generations of Americans. Being a nation of immigrants of many
nationalities and languages, America has dealt with this in a very unique
way. American English is very different from the native English of Great Britain.
Over the centuries since America's birth our language has evolved and
incorporated many words from other languages. Look through the dictionary
some time and pay attention to the origins of the words. Now I admit that
this does make 'English' one of the hardest languages to learn, but then
again it also provides at least a fraction of similarity to many other
languages which provides a starting point to build from.
Language is so much
more than simply a means to communicate. Language is in many respects
IDENTITY. If you speak Italian, you are identified with Italy, French -
France, Arabic - Middle-East, Russian, German, etc, etc, etc. English is no
different, except that it is common to more than one country, America,
Canada, England, Australia, etc. However, someone from any of those places
can go to any of the others and readily assimilate into society, conduct
business, retain services, understand laws, signs, etc. Other than a slight
adjustment to accents and colloquialisms there are few stumbling blocks or
obstacles. However, when other languages are cast into a sea of foreign
words, symbols, signs and customs it is much more uncomfortable and in many
cases nearly impossible to survive, much less assimilate.
So, what do we do
about that?
Do we allow people
to immigrate to our country without even attempting to learn our language?
Do we print every government and business form, brochure, advertisement,
etc. in multiple languages? Now, don't get me wrong here, I am drawing a
very clear distinction here between immigrants and tourists. It only makes
sense to print tourist information, brochures and other materials in
multiple languages. However, for those who are immigrating, MOVING HERE
PERMANENTLY, then speaking the language should be a minimum requirement.
Having been in the military and traveled the world, even though I was not
immigrating to any of the countries I visited, I always tried to learn the
language, or at least enough to shop a little and order a beer. I always
learned at least a few key phrases to get help in an emergency, ask where
the bathroom was or ask for someone who spoke English. That was just for my
own survival and comfort, but to actually immigrate to another country I
could not even imagine expecting them to accommodate me and my native
tongue. And they call Americans arrogant?
Here are a few
recent examples of ARROGANCE right here in America, but not on the part of
Americans.
Texas has just had
the first ever gubernatorial debate in SPANISH!
Quick quiz:
Q: Which area has more Spanish-language radio stations?
a) California
b) All of Latin America
A: California
A couple of years ago El Cenizo passed an ordinance making Spanish its official language. It has declared itself a "safe haven" for illegal immigrants.
El Cenizo is in Texas.
(Isn't it interesting that when Americans call for English to be the official language of America
they are called racists, but when a town in south Texas makes Spanish the official language they are referred to as "celebrating their culture.")
All local government transactions in El Cenizo are conducted in Spanish. Mayor Rafael Rodriguez stated that he would fire any city employee who inquired about a person's immigration status or helped the U.S. Border Patrol find illegal immigrants.
My thanks to Greg
Knapp of KLIF
radio for these little factoids.
So, call me racist,
call me insensitive, call me just plain crazy, but I KNOW that this country
was founded by English speaking forefathers, has been an English speaking
country through centuries of immigration and firmly believe it should remain
English speaking with English formally recognized as the official language
of the United States of America. I encourage people to learn other
languages, as I did traveling abroad. Being bilingual in this age of global
economy is a definite plus, however it is NOT the responsibility of the
taxpayer to pay for multilingual documents or any other accommodation for
those immigrating here. If America is where you want to be, then English is
your first step to getting there. If Japan is where you want to live, then
Japanese is your first step, etc, etc, etc.
Do not let America,
or any country for that matter, follow in the footsteps of Babylon. Do not
let the misguided idealism of multiculturalism be the modern day Tower of
Babel. Let us be One People (Americans) with One Language (English) and let
nothing that we propose be impossible to us. No more confusion, no more
Babel, one people all on the same page speaking the same language. THAT is
what made America great and THAT is what will keep America great.
Paul
Revere Society Mission Statement
Michael
Savage founded The Paul Revere Society (PRS). With a crisis of leadership
threatening the United States, PRS stands for the reassertion of our
borders, our language, and our culture.
Some
say that the borders are arbitrary, English is only one of many languages
in our new "Multicultural America," and that we share no common
history or values. We believe in the Sovereignty of our Nation. That
English is our national "glue." And that we all do share in the
pillars of the Bible,
the U.S. Constitution,
and the Bill of Rights.
These documents and what they stand for are our common
cultural heritage.
The
Paul Revere Society (PRS) will assert the values inherent in these pillars
of freedom. We will seek to educate the citizenry about our nation's
freedoms.
