Note from the editor: First I'd like to make a public apology to a certain Halloween Party Chatter who had written to me, Howard The Duck. I obviously misunderstood the content of an email they had written and just assumed too much. My apologies.

To upgrade on things I need. *L* And I don't mean anything kinky either Michie!!!! *smack* *LMAO* ~Josie™

Geez, I have a list! 1. lose weight 2. quit smoking again 3. get a hold of ABLE and make him see he can't fight my charms *EG* 4. get on Chathouse payroll *L* 5. get my house 6. get a better job -unless I get #4- *L* 7. read more productive books *L* 8. write my book w/ wuzzy hmmm.. Long Distance Relationship Activity
LadyGreenEyes™

This year instead of making the traditional New Years Resolutions like
lose 10lbs, stop smoking etc., make a list of the things you would like to do to improve your long distance relationship.  Post the list in a place that you will see it every day as a reminder to work on those items.

New Years Gathering
Michigan Storm™ (written in third person)

This year on New Years Eve Ocelot hosted a small get-together to welcome the beginning of the 21st century. Her guests included RiderOfTxStorm, TeDdY BeAr, angelface™ & Michigan Storm™. Due to weather conditions and personal obstacles other's who'd planned to be there could not make it. Though angelface had been there for a few days, it was the first time Ocey had met any of us, for angel it was the first time she met Rider. TeDdY, Rider & Michie had met on other occasions, not to mention that Michie is staying with Rider and TX Storm at this time. TeDdY and angel had also met before, as well as Michie and angel. Aside from the constant chatter of conversation there was the nonstop sound of many laughs and giggles, and of course a lot smiles. Photographs were being snapped often as Michie can't leave her new camera alone *L*. It's gatherings like these that brings friends closer together and really gives you the chance to get to know each other better, of course if you don't feel comfortable with someone online chances are you won't feel comfortable with them in real time. Everyone got along really well and that helped add to the making of a great time.

A Soldiers Christmas
This was posted late, not by the fault of the person who submitted it *S*.
Submitted by: Jafo *real name omitted*

'TWAS THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS,
HE LIVED ALL ALONE,
IN A ONE BEDROOM HOUSE MADE OF
PLASTER AND STONE.

I HAD COME DOWN THE CHIMNEY
WITH PRESENTS TO GIVE,
AND TO SEE JUST WHO
IN THIS HOME DID LIVE.

I LOOKED ALL ABOUT,
A STRANGE SIGHT I DID SEE,
NO TINSEL, NO PRESENTS,
NOT EVEN A TREE.

NO STOCKING BY MANTLE,
JUST BOOTS FILLED WITH SAND,
ON THE WALL HUNG PICTURES
OF FAR DISTANT LANDS.

WITH MEDALS AND BADGES,
AWARDS OF ALL KINDS,
A SOBER THOUGHT
CAME THROUGH MY MIND.

FOR THIS HOUSE WAS DIFFERENT,
IT WAS DARK AND DREARY,
I FOUND THE HOME OF A SOLDIER,
ONCE I COULD SEE CLEARLY.

THE SOLDIER LAY SLEEPING,
SILENT, ALONE,
CURLED UP ON THE FLOOR
IN THIS ONE BEDROOM HOME.

THE FACE WAS SO GENTLE,
THE ROOM IN SUCH DISORDER,
NOT HOW I PICTURED
A UNITED STATES SOLDIER.

WAS THIS THE HERO
OF WHOM I'D JUST READ?
CURLED UP ON A PONCHO,
THE FLOOR FOR A BED?

I REALIZED THE FAMILIES
THAT I SAW THIS NIGHT,
OWED THEIR LIVES TO THESE SOLDIERS
WHO WERE WILLING TO FIGHT.

SOON ROUND THE WORLD,
THE CHILDREN WOULD PLAY,
AND GROWNUPS WOULD CELEBRATE
A BRIGHT CHRISTMAS DAY.

THEY ALL ENJOYED FREEDOM
EACH MONTH OF THE YEAR,
BECAUSE OF THE SOLDIERS,
LIKE THE ONE LYING HERE.

I COULDN'T HELP WONDER
HOW MANY LAY ALONE,
ON A COLD CHRISTMAS EVE
IN A LAND FAR FROM HOME.

THE VERY THOUGHT
BROUGHT A TEAR TO MY EYE,
I DROPPED TO MY KNEES
AND STARTED TO CRY.

THE SOLDIER AWAKENED
AND I HEARD A ROUGH VOICE,
"SANTA DON'T CRY,
THIS LIFE IS MY CHOICE;

I FIGHT FOR FREEDOM,
I DON'T ASK FOR MORE,
MY LIFE IS MY GOD,
MY COUNTRY, MY CORPS."

THE SOLDIER ROLLED OVER
AND DRIFTED TO SLEEP,
I COULDN'T CONTROL IT,
I CONTINUED TO WEEP.

I KEPT WATCH FOR HOURS,
SO SILENT AND STILL
AND WE BOTH SHIVERED
FROM THE COLD NIGHT'S CHILL.

I DIDN'T WANT TO LEAVE
ON THAT COLD, DARK, NIGHT,
THIS GUARDIAN OF HONOR
SO WILLING TO FIGHT.

THEN THE SOLDIER ROLLED OVER,
WITH A VOICE SOFT AND PURE,
WHISPERED, "CARRY ON SANTA,
IT'S CHRISTMAS DAY, ALL IS SECURE."

ONE LOOK AT MY WATCH,
AND I KNEW HE WAS RIGHT.
"MERRY CHRISTMAS MY FRIEND,
AND TO ALL A GOOD NIGHT."
