Ezine

Notes: My apologies for the Ezine being late AGAIN, but blame it on Hotmail who decided not to let me log in and get the zine mail.
This week makes ONE year! That's right, 52 weeks of the Chathouse Bitchzine!! (joke)! Yeah.... Well, as I was saying- The Chathouse itself has been generous enough to grant me a wish! They're going to send a mug (we're not sure exactly what it will look like yet) to the winner of our contest and possibly even a banner IN THE CHATHOUSE to advertise your site!! Also, we're going to give an award to go with it. The award will be for your HP and the cup will be for drinking from or you could use it as I have mine (I won a mug last year), sitting on my dresser in all it's glory because I don't want to use it- I want it kept in good shape so I'll always have it! What is the contest? Good question!! I can't slip anything by you people can I?? Well, we've taken all the homepages we've featured over the past year and put them in this nifty little poll thingy here. All you have to do is simply click on the one of your choice and click submit! Not sure who to vote for? Haven't visited the pages or signed the guestbooks yet?? Well, click
here and a new window will open with links to all the pages!! I hope you will all participate and vote for your friends! Please Vote!! The poll will be on the Ezine for three weeks and the fourth week the winner will be announced!!

The Voting is over, the poll removed. Thank you for participating.

Our One Year Anniversary

It's hard to believe a year has gone by already. I'll let myself believe that it has flown by so fast because this all has been such a blast! ~L~

Which in all honesty it has. In these past 12 months, I've watched both the Chathouse and the Ezine go through alot of changes. And in my most un-humble opinion, all were for the better.

I've enjoyed watching both the Chathouse and the Ezine growing in efforts to reach you chatters. And I've enjoyed hearing from those of you that have been reached!

This past year in the Chathouse

The new forums that have been added throughout this year are being filled with your voices!

The War Room is constantly getting more & more handles showing up, which means more & more input from you.

The Poetry Corner has been filled up with so much wonderful, well worth reading poetry from many different chatters. They have many different feelings and insights, and various styles of getting those insights out. But all of whom have been willing to share them. Thank You!

Let's Talk is the newest forum of the year. And with it's purpose of getting those from all different rooms, conversing on just about anything they can imagine, I hope to see this one filled with all your voices too!

There have been a few other forums added, all of which you can get to by clicking on the General Topics tab in any forum.

This Year's Additions
Chathouse Features

Profiles for the registered chatters is one of the newer additions this year. It allows you to post any and all information you would like other chatters to know about you, even pictures!  It's fast, simple and free!

Games have been added in every room in the house. And with them opening up in a separate window, it allows you to chat & play at the same time.

Search the Web is a  link that has been added this year and can be found inside every room also. It too opens in a separate window, and it's search engines kicks yahoo's @ss hands down!

New Site

Channel X was introduced for those who were looking for "adult chat". It was created separately from the Chathouse to provide the "adult content" that many chatters were looking for, while maintaining the general public accessibility of the Chathouse itself. Channel X has alot to offer those in search of that atmosphere and soon they will be accepting ideas from the chatters themselves for room names and designs. Stay tuned for more information on the Design Your Own Room promotion.

Chathouse Goodbye's

We had to say goodbye to a few good staff members this year.

Chat Mistress is one that some of you had a chance to chat with. She is missed by all at Channel 1, and by many throughout the Chathouse. But she is dong great out in California and I'm sure enjoying the sight seeing on the beaches.  ~EG~

Seigfried was our Chat Master that we lost when he moved away for college. I tried convincing him that I had many, many things I could teach him. But he insisted it was books he needed for his lessons and not whips. So young, so naive..... The last finals showed that he is doing just great! We wish him continued success.

Root was the programmer who besides continuously fixing this and that, was also the creator our Random Quotes. He is doing great with his new job and new family, but is missed by all!

Pingpong is the guy we can all thank for the new forums! He too left us for school. And he too is missed!

 This Year's Hello's

Along with our goodbye's this past year, we were fortunate to also be able to say hello to some.

RantMaster  A man that no longer needs an introduction around here. This sweet adorable guy, has stepped beyond his already overwhelming Chathouse duties, and stepped up to the plate as a strong spirited individual, who not only isn't afraid to voice his opinions, but isn't prejudiced towards the views of others.

Not only do I think this man has a big heart and is Cute as hell, I think he holds all inside that it takes, to go far in life. And I thank him for not keeping it all inside and I consider myself very fortunate to know him.

DD123 This is the man who has been working his cute little @ss of doing all the handy work around the Chathouse. If it's broke, he'll fix it! He is also who we thank for giving us our Chathouse Games link, and putting the search engine right at our finger tips in each of the rooms. And as busy as we keep him, he is always asking for input from the chatters of what they would like to have changed, added, or removed.  He's a really good guy, and a great programmer!

Last, but surely not least,
The Ezine

Again, in my not so humble opinion, I think this is one of the best features added this year! I would list off all the great writers there are here, but I'm sure our editor has that covered. So I'll just take this time to say  Thank You to the readers, not for reading the Ezine, but for writing in and sharing your views with us. Reading the emails and chatting with you on past issues has truly been both  rewarding and humbling. Thank You!

 To our editor, Michigan Storm
To you I also want to say Thank You! You took an idea and turned it into an Ezine! Your hard work and dedication to this Ezine is not only realized, but is greatly appreciated!
Take a bow woman, you've done good! Thank You for allowing me to be a part of it.

This weeks added quote was sent in by
~White Rose~
And she included this explanation of it.

This is a bumper sticker I had made up after my ex-husband put one on the bumper of his truck that said: "My ex-wifes vehicle is a broom"

˛ My broom was acquired second hand from my ex-Mother-in-Law

Entertainment
with

Quick Note
Since March was supposedly Women's History month, I thought I'd honor some women in entertainment. Of course the month of March just ended, which seems appropriate for me, because I don't celebrate history months. I being a women, need no special month to feel as though my sex is important. If I want to learn about womens history, I don't need a month to tell me that. I personally don't agree with "Black History Month" nor do I agree with this new "Women's History Month". So this week I take aim at women in music. Hey maybe for my next article I will parody history months. Or better yet, make a calendar celebrating all the 12 history months. (Yes I think every month should be a special history month) sarcasm implied

I'd also like to thank everyone who read my first article. I got a warm reply from everyone who told me they checked it out. It's nice to hear feedback about my work. Like I said last week, if anyone has an opinion about my articles, send me a line. Your comments are always welcome.

Main Topic
What is a girl to do when the DJ wont play her song? Most singers these days are expressing their need for a competent and prompt DJ. When I first heard the lyric "Hey Mr DJ put a record on I wanna dance with my baby" from Madonna's song entitled "Music", I couldn't believe people still considered her a trendsetter. Come on how long did it take her to come up with that uneventful lyric? But that's not the most disturbing part of it. The thing that bothers me is this has become a trend. Yes Madonna is still a trendsetter after all.

Jennifer Lopez's latest video "Play" contains the lyrics "DJ play that song". Again I ask the question, how long did it take her to come up with this? Throughout the whole song the only thing she says is "Come on play that song. Play it all night long" It makes me want to stand up and scream "SOMEONE PLAY HER FREAKIN SONG SO SHE SHUTS UP!" (She even says something along that line in the song) The music video is even worse than the whining lyrics. I suppose I could tolerate the song, but the video is a cardinal sin. Jennifer looks like a cross between a space alien and a disco diva with an afro perm hairdo. It's bad, real bad. If video's like this are a result of her and Puff Daddys breakup, they need to get back together and quick!

I guess my point is, when did DJ's become so important? And why is the mention of them so annoying to me? Am I not understanding the importance of DJ's who play the right songs? I really don't know what this whole phenomenon is with DJ's , nor do I care to. Maybe I'm more resourceful than J~lo. If I want to hear a particular song, I will simply buy the record, or download the MP3. Easy as that. The empty lyrics are what bothers me the most. Ok so people want to sing about DJ's, that's fine. But why can't they express it in a better way? Not with the same drivel words sung over and over again. What is up with these uneventful lyrics? Can we blame this stuff on bubble gum pop, Britney Spears and the like? Or are my standards too high? I urge anyone who understands this DJ deal, to mail me. I also urge everyone to mail me your thoughts on this growing music trend. If I get anything I'll post it next week. Until then, Hey Miss KQ put an article up, I wanna read it with my baby. Cause when the words pop up, I never wanna stop reading them. E-zine makes the chathouse, come to togther. Yeah.

Madonna's Music lyrics
J Lo's Play lyrics

Overused in Entertainment
The word Diva is so overused in the music industry. The only requirement it takes to be a "diva" is being a female singer. (Ok Elton John is the exception, if you don't already consider him a female *L*) I truly hate this word and the way it's always thrown around. VH-1 went so far as to have an annual "Diva's Live". Five overly pampered "divas" get to perform their best hits. I really don't get what the appeal to being a diva is. It seems like anyone could be a diva. What makes this overly used term anything special to be called? I am very anti-diva. I'd even go as far to say I'm a diva-supremacist. I'm going to start my own group called NODIVAS. The acronym means ; Nuff of dem idiotic vaunts about singers.

One Year With Kimber™
Kimber™

Wow…… It’s been a year already… The ezine celebrates it’s first birthday. I just took a nostalgic look back through the issues. My purpose was to take a quick count on the number of chatters that have been featured over the past year. This simple task took a lot longer than I thought it would. *L* I kinda got caught up rereading and remembering special times and special people that I’ve met over this past year, simply by popping into various rooms to write different zine articles or to solicit volunteers to be featured. *L* some took more convincing than others did…. Especially at the beginning.. *L*

Fondly remembering my first featured chatter column.. *L* I had to brow beat two of my favorite people to chat with – Texas*StormŽ*F* and Rider…. The only way that I could get them to cooperate was to conduct the interview over the phone.. see the lengths I go to, to get information for my articles *L*. Since that first interview, over 120 chatters have been featured and that’s not including chathouse staff members who have also been featured. I didn’t keep track, but am estimating that I’ve sent out over 200 featured chatter forms to be completed and returned. The response to this column has been truly awesome!!!… The original intent was to feature one male and one female chatter each week. Many weeks it was necessary to feature up to 8 chatters in an edition as we had such a huge bank of completed interviews waiting to be published.

I sincerely want to thank all who have welcomed me into their rooms and helped me with various articles.. A special thanks to all who have participated and consented to be featured as a chatter. I’ve been very fortunate to meet some amazing people by writing this column.. and I’ve had the honor of announcing a number of engagement’s and marriages. Wishing you all a life time of happiness together…

Happy Birthday Zine.... Many more!!!

My Two Cents
on the
Ezine 1 Year Anniversary

Although I was not a part of the Ezine staff from the beginning, Michigan Storm (Editor Extraordinaire) asked me to do a "Year in Review" article. So, here is a look back at My2Cents from my Beginning in the Ezine to Present!

My articles over the last year have focused on three main categories, Chat/Chatter/Chathouse, Politics and Social Issues. So, I have chosen to review my work in those three sections. The first being Chat et al.

My Two Cents on Chat:
Of course a regular feature in the Ezine is our review of a particular Floor of the Chathouse. In doing those reviews I have found that each floor and each room have many commonalities. Each has their jerks, pervs, quirks, relationships, friends, eccentricities, good and bad. In short, they are all pretty much the same with slight variation based on the make-up of the "Regs" of the room, particular "Theme" of the room or whether they are registered or free. The differences, although minor, however make a major difference to those who choose to chat there. In doing these features, as well as just general chat experience, I have developed certain opinions and pet peeves in regards to chat and chatters! For all of the good that I have seen, such as great friendships, love and honest sincere connections made, there is also the ever present whining, ignorance and pure evil in chat rooms as well. As I so eloquently stated in the past, WHINING is my Numero Uno Pet Peeve! As if the anonymity gives people license to unload all of there real or imagined emotional baggage on the next unsuspecting chatter that walks in the room. My Number Two Pet Peeve would be the handles that some people choose. My article on Chat handles was one of the ones that I had the most fun with. Although, my article on Internet/Chat Safety was a personal favorite of mine. It never ceases to amaze me how freely people give out information to complete strangers! Ignorance is no excuse, you simply don't check your common sense at the door when entering a chatroom. Especially since each and every chatroom has it's own garden variety jerks lurking about, as well as those who are seeking to genuine harm to people. Sometimes they make themselves obvious, but the real threats are those lurking on the other side of the screen playing the part of your best net-friend! In short, chat is just like life "in the real world"! It's full of jerks, pervs, quirks, relationships, friends, eccentricities, good and bad. Just because it is happening in CyberSpace does not make it any less Real, less Dangerous, less Exciting, less Intimate or less Emotional. It is Life!

My Two Cents on Politics:
My early days as an Ezine writer were devoted mostly to Chat topics, but as the 2000 Presidential Election approached, I test the political waters in my articles. The initial reaction to my political articles left a bit to be desired, but I did here from a few politically minded readers. Then along came Confusion 2000 and some of the best material a political writer could ever dream of having to work with! Being a Right-Wing Conservative Republican Religious Extremist (~LOL~) I had a field days with the campaign and the election results. To me the entire election circus can be summed up in this bumper sticker:

The spectacle of Confusion 2000 launched me on to many an article on politics, political issues and social issues as well. Watching Al Gore disintegrate into a whining cry baby sore LOSER and pulling out every Liberal tactic in the book was a joy to behold. He played the "race card", he rallied the Liberal rent a mob headed by Jesse Jackson and he drug it all into court, all to keep from having to admit he was a LOOOOOSER!!!!!! On a side note, the media circus surrounding the election also helped launch the Political War Room Forum in the Chathouse. After the election was over, the forum was renamed simply The War Room and has been an interesting and insightful forum for discussion of real life issues, brining together people from all walks of life, parts of the U.S. and even the world. In my not so humble opinion, the best thing Al Gore ever did (besides INVENT the Internet ~LOL~) was to help inspire the creation of the War Room. This also opened the door to another one of my favorite topics, that being the Constitution of the United States of America. I have written extensively on Constitutional issues from Freedom of Speech, Freedom of Religion, Separation of Church and State and my favorite INCOME TAX! I stumbled on a site that I have quoted extensively in many of my articles and War Room discussions and the banner has been on my page since. Need I say more?

Citizens for Constitutional Government & Help Abolish the IRS!

My Two Cents on Social Issues:
Social Issues and Society itself have been the main focus on my articles in my latter issues. I have written on Society, Morals/Ethics, Abortion, Homosexuality, Handicapped Parking, Evolution vs. Creation, Religion vs. Secular Humanism, Education, Guns, etc... Needless to say, there is a wealth of issues to talk about in our modern day society. The beauty of writing about social issues is that no matter what you write about, SOMEONE will agree and disagree. While my beliefs and opinions are strong, tested and unlikely to change, I have thoroughly enjoyed these articles and the responses I have gotten via email and the
War Room. Kudos to all those who have taken me to task both on my articles and in the War Room and a Special Thanks to the man who has stepped up as my "Arch Nemesis" - Rantmaster. His rants in the Rantmaster's Theater, as well as his contributions to the War Room have been thoroughly enjoyed! Oddly enough, for all of our differences, we have also become good friends!

My intent has always been to educate and inspire thought and discussion of issues such as these. It has been my experience that MOST people do not have an educated or informed opinion on many of the "Hot Button Issues" that are in the News all the time. It seems that they are either disinterested due to the tediousness of the details or they suffer from information overload in our high-tech multimedia society. Too many people rely on pure emotional response to such issues rather than informed reasoning. These articles have been the most fun to write, but have brought the most backlash as well. Right and Wrong are no longer Black and White issues. My positions usually come from the strict black and white side of the spectrum, whereas the liberal media, liberal politics and brainwashing of the masses have created the persistent "gray area" in the minds of most people. I have relished in my attacks of the "gray area" and, although I am but one man (David) attacking the multibillion dollar Liberal Media Machine (Goliath), I can't help but feel as though I have made some small victories in swaying the minds of some of my readers and focusing the resolve of those that already agreed with me. So, in the battle of Social Awareness I shall continue, with sling in hand, to shatter the glass houses of "gray area" and take down Goliath!

And last, but definitely NOT least, this last year has seen the creation of My Homepage! My Two Cents - The man behind the opinions! Coming soon to my homepage will be links to some of my favorite website and sites that I have used and referenced in many of my articles. Be warned though, it is still under construction and NOT a place that any self-respecting liberal would want to be seen. My Homepage contains a healthy dose of ME, Truth and Wisdom and none of the propaganda and misinformation that liberals are used to. Please feel free to ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK! Let me know what you think!

So, what have you got to say?

Let me know and I'll tell you if it's worth 2 cents!
