Everything you ever wanted to know about this particular Chathouse®
Feature...
Private Rooms (and Ch@tmosphere)
- What is a Private Room?
Private Rooms are chat rooms individually
created by Subscribed Members for their personal use with just a few
invited friends or with the general public. They may name the room,
choose it's background, create it's look and atmosphere, and choose
any Room Password they want. Most of all they determine who comes
to chat in the Private Room. Anyone may enter a Private
Room at the invitation of the creator. They create a Room
Password which they give out to those invited. A Private Room will
last for 12 hours, holds six people and provides a more intimate chat
forum. You may recreate your room whenever it expires.
- Who can use Private Rooms?
Anyone may be invited to enter a Private Room, but only Subscribed
Members can create them. And remember, you can only get into a Private
Room if the creator invites you by giving you the Room
Password.
- Why would I want a Private Room?
Imagine a place where everyone knows you and everyone wants to hear
what you have to say. Imagine that you are interested in everything
being said. Imagine that you are among friends and can really get
into a good conversation without wading through other chat. This is
what a Private Room can offer.
Some people have even had virtual business meetings in our private
rooms; it allows for the conversation to be very focused.
- How do I create a Private Room?
First of all you must Subscribe.
Once you are a Subscribed Member, you may go to Ch@tmosphere
to create a Private Room. You may custom design your room "from scratch"
or you may use the templates provided for some of the most popular
Chathouse® rooms. Simply follow the instructions for choosing
a background, entrance image, room image, text colors and names for
the "speak" and "whisper" buttons. You will also be asked whether
you would like this room to be hidden or displayed (on the list of
current private rooms) and to create the Room Password. Remember --
no one can come into your Private Room without the Room Password which
you provide.
- Where do I create or find Private Rooms?
Just go to Ch@tmosphere by clicking
on this icon anytime you see it anywhere in the Chathouse®
Once inside Ch@tmosphere you'll
find a list of Private Rooms in
existence right now. Subscribed Members will also have the option
of creating their own rooms by clicking on "Create."
