Everything you ever wanted to know about this particular Chathouse®
Feature...
Message Center
- What is the Message Center?
The Message Center is like a bulletin board for all Registered and
Subscribed Members. But unlike a bulletin board, these messages are
private and will only be read by the Handle addressee. Any Registered
or Subscribed Member can Pick Up messages in the Message
Center left for their Registered Handle, but only Subscribers
may leave messages. A NEW! function of the Message Center is
Anon-E-Mail. Any Registered or
Subscribed Member may choose to Receive Anon-E-Mail. These
are messages addressed by Handle and then confidentially forwarded
by the Message Center to that Handle's Registration E-Mail address.
- Who uses the Message Center?
Subscribed Members have full privileges in the Message Center, as
they can both Pick Up and Leave messages in the Message Center and
can Receive or Send Anon-E-Mail. Registered Members may Pick Up messages
in the Message Center and choose whether or not they wish to Receive
Anon-E-Mail, but they aren't able to Leave or Send messages. Non-Registered
Users are not able to use the Message Center since they have no Registered
Handle for addressing messages.
- How does the Message Center work?
Simply go to the Message Center to Pick Up or Leave messages. To Pick
Up messages, simply type in your Handle and Password where indicated.
To Leave a message you will need to to do the same, and indicate the
Handle of the Chatter to receive the message. The Chathouse®
Message Center takes care of the
rest. When a chatter logs into any Members room in the House, they
will receive a note at the top of the chat page telling them that
there are New Messages waiting for them in the Message Center. Note:
if someone has not received your message, it may only mean that they
haven't checked for them. If you are a Subscribed Member, you can
also Check the Anon-E-Mail Status of the Chatter you wish to send
your message to. If they are accepting Anon-E-Mail, you may choose
to Send your message to them via Anon-E-Mail instead of (or as well
as) leaving the message in the Message Center for Pick Up.
- Why would I want to use the Message Center?
Even if your friend isn't currently chatting you can say hello; you
may also tell them where and when you can be found chatting. Send
messages to several friends and arrange to meet somewhere. The possibilities
are endless.
- Where do I find the Message Center?
You can get to Message Center
by clicking on this blue and gold banner icon anytime you see it anywhere
in the Chathouse®
